Making sense of text: the power of instructional materials
For students in 3º, 4º year and graduate teachers
This workshop has a focus on meaning and will be concerned reading instruction (and will sometimes touch on some indirect reference to writing processes) with the aim of achieving understanding of a writer’s communicative intent.
As reading is a complex construct involving different types of knowledge at multiple levels, engaging in the observation of the process will require focusing on some of these for our purposes. The use of linguistic clues in combination with other sources of knowledge in order to achieve propositional meaning will be the focus. We will experiment with the analysis of these clues and with the design of tasks
